Overview

PanchPokhari Trekking is a one-of-a-kind trek that provides unforgettable Himalayan experiences in Nepal. This trek takes you to the five  Sacred and Pristine glacial lakes which is located at an elevation of 4,060 m. These lakes are sacred to Hindu people, and many pilgrims visit this place during the festival of Janai Purnima. Janai Purnima  occurs on the full moon day of the month of July-August. It is believed that taking a dip in the icy-cold water makes you pure for a lifetime.

The lake system is also well-known for the high-altitude wetland at the base of Jugal Himal. The lake’s discharged water becomes the Indrawati River, one of the major tributaries of the Koshi River System.

The PanchPokhari Trek starts in Chautara, Sindhupalchok district, east of Kathmandu. You can enjoy cultural diversity in the region, primarily made up of Sherpa and Tamang people. The trek is still pristine, less crowded, and naturally fresh, even though visitors have not spoiled it.

Because the trek ascends to 4500 meters in altitude, you must be physically and mentally prepared. During the tour, you can see the majestic Himalayan peaks of east-central Nepal which is beyond your imagination. In addition you will have a breathtaking view of  Dorje Lakpa, Phurbi Ghyachu, and Madiya of the Jugal Himal. You will also get a chance to explore Rolwaling  and Langtang mountains ranges too.
