Welcome to homeland of Mt. Everest’s .When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, our agents will greet you and transport you to the hotel you have reserved in Kathmandu. Hotel employees will finish your check-in and handle your stay. Finally We will be prepared for welcome dinner at the hotel in the evening with our crew.
You will be transported to the airport on this day for a short picturesque journey to Lukla. It is a short trip of fewer than 30 minutes where you can experience the breathtaking views of mountains, forests, and river valleys. We begin our trek to Phakding after landing in Lukla. The trail leads to Phakding while taking in the scenery along the way. We spend the night at Phakding finally at a lodge.
On this day, we travel from Phakding Village to Namche Bazaar along the Dudh Koshi River. The trail is excellent, with views of pine trees and Rhododendron forests. We will arrive in Monjo which is also the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park. The vistas of massive mountains are breathtaking as you go down the trail. After seeing Namche Bazaar’s and surroundings, we will finally spend the night in a hotel.
Today it is your acclimatization day in Namche, so you will have plenty of time to learn about the local lifestyle. Short hikes can help you make the most of your time. If we do the high amount of rest of course high altitude can be dangerous. With increased elevation, you must alter your physique. We will hike to Everest View Hotel after breakfast from where we can spot the first view of Everest if we are lucky. In the same time you will also see breathtaking panoramic views of the worlds highest amount. Therefore you will also get a change to learn about the distinctive Sherpa culture.
After a beautiful time in Namche, the walk begins with a short uphill which is also the main trail to Everest base camp. Then, on the gradual winding track to Kyangima near Shanasa, a small settlement with few houses, you may spot wildlife such as the colourful Danphe pheasant (Impeyan Pheasant) National bird of Nepal, the elusive musk deer, Himalayan Thar (mountain goat) and many more.
After a nice hike, the journey diverts, leaving the main track behind and towards Gokyo with a solid ascent for the Mong ridge top at 3,973 meters. You can descend downhill to Phortse Thanghka near the Dudh Kosi River.
After a climb into little woods of rhododendron trees, it changes to juniper and conifers shrubs tree lines then to Tongba 3,950m and Gyele 3,960 m small towns before Dole here at Dole with beautiful views of Khumbila and Tawache peaks.
From Dole, the adventure continues along the valley for an hour on a gradual level to Lhabarma Kharka at 4,325 m and Luza at 4,390 m. Walking around the ridge top with views of Machermo village on the glacial valley, then descending to Machermo for an overnight stop with a half-day with afternoon frees after lunch for acclimatization and short hikes.
As the walk progresses on this high altitude heading to the final target of this adventure excursion to Gokyo Lake, the route climbs a rocky track through ablation valley via the first lake, then a second lake, and eventually to the third lake, also known as Dudh Pokhari. On the lake’s shore stands Gokyo, the summer settlement of the Khumbu area, at 4,790 meters. The free afternoon after lunch for a short walk with acclimatization, from this vantage point near the lake, offers striking views of Mt. Cho Oyo, the world’s sixth-highest, and Gyachung Kang reflecting on turquoise green Gokyo Lake.
We begin our ascent to Gokyo Ri early in the morning. Gokyo Ri (5360m) is a tiny peak overlooking the hamlet of Gokyo. The vistas improve as we rise, and from the summit, we can see four of Nepal’s seven highest peaks: Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. The longest glacier in Nepal, the Ngozumpo glacier, which tumbles down from the peaks of Cho Oyu, stretches out for miles below us. One of Nepal’s outstanding all-around views. Today, we return to the same path, taking views of the Cholatse and Taboche peaks. Our trail drops before ascending a hill. We have beautiful views of Thamserku, Cho Oyu, and Kangtega mountains after reaching the Chorten at the edge. We stroll through the villages of Machhermo, Luza, and Lhafarma before arriving in Dole. Dole for the night.
We return to Namche. Similarly, the trail begins steeply downward to Phortse Thanga, where you may admire rhododendrons, wildflowers, and waterfalls. We also see mountain goats, musk deer, pheasants, and other wildlife. We will enjoy good mountain views of Khumbila peak along the hike. On our way to Namche, we can admire the views of the Taboche, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kangtega mountains. Stay the night in Namche Bazaar.
We travel down a rough trail and over several suspension bridges before reaching a levelled path. The air is warmer as we continue on our journey to Lukla. Our alpine trip concludes when we arrive at Lukla. Therefore, we will spend our time talking about our experience in the mountains. In Lukla we will spend the night.
You fly to Kathmandu in the morning on this day. This brief and gorgeous journey may make you homesick because of the glimpses of snowy mountains via the plane’s private window. You will be transferred to your hotel and then you can relax or spend your final moments enjoying the wonders of Kathmandu. Another excellent alternative is to go shopping, and we want a celebration dinner together in the evening.
Today is our day off. We usually recommend that you stay an extra day after the trek if your flight from Lukla to Kathmandu is delayed or cancelled. If your trip goes smoothly, you could go sightseeing in the city.
