Jugal Himal Trek leads you to the northeastern section of Kathmandu valley, through an unexplored region that rests on the lap of Himalayan mountains such as Dorje Lakpa (6966m), Madiya (6257m), and Phurbi Chhyachu (6637m). For 12 days, it is an off-the-beaten-path experience. Thus, only a few lucky trekkers trek to Jugal Himal every year.
However, Jugal Himal Trek is very close to Kathmandu and popular with eager hikers worldwide. The trail encircles the zone from tropical forests to high alpine lakes, ranging in elevation from 870m to 4050m. The Jugal Himal hike takes you along a limited roadway and forested ridges.
Follow the path that leads to high passes, breathtaking mountain views, Tibetan monasteries, lovely towns, dense woods, Panch Pokhari, and Bhairab Kunda lake. Panch Pokhari (literally “five ponds”) is a series of five Hindu sacred lakes famous for being the world’s ninth-highest altitude wetland. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 4100m above sea level.
Bhairab Kunda, one of the trek’s essential features, is located in the Sindhupalchok district. It is visited by thousands of pilgrims yearly around the full moon in the Nepali month of August. Bhairab Kunda, at 4240m, is a respected and well-preserved holy pilgrimage. It is one of the famous destinations for both Hindus and Buddhists.
Because the Jugal Himal area is less touristy, it attracts a small number of camping hikers each year. There are no food or lodging options along the route, and you will be camping with the team in charge of all tasks.
Views of Manaslu (8163m), Ganesh Himal (7405m), Langtang Lirung (7234m), Ghengu Liru (6571m) (Langtang II), Kimshun (6745m), Shalbachum (6918m), and other peaks are breathtaking.
