Annapurna Base Camp Trek is reasonably fit to walk in high altitudes. But, trekking to Annapurna Base Camp does not require previous high-altitude trekking experience. Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC) is known as Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. This conservation area contains diverse flora and fauna with a major Gurung and Magar native population. All spectacular mountains circles the Annapurna Sanctuary. The peculiar terrain of Annapurna sanctuary facilitates the Himalaya ecosystem with dry regions. Among these regions, Thakali villages are at the foothills of the Annapurna range.
Terrace farm of paddy, thick pine, bamboo forest, and serenity accompanies you on the trek. The sheer beauty of Annapurna keeps you spellbound, and this all helps to refresh you.
The journey to ABC commences from Pokhara. We take the morning bus to Pokhara, a 6-7 hours drive (200km). Pokhara is a well-known name among travel enthusiasts. This beautiful city is a city of lakes and is the gateway to the Annapurna region of Nepal. Pokhara serves a fantastic view of the Annapurna region’s mountains.
On the second day of the itinerary, we start driving to Tikhedhnga via Birethanti(1039m). The actual trek begins from Tikhedhunga, where we take a trail passing through paddy fields, Modi Khola(river), to reach Ulleri(1540m), the destination for our overnight stay.
Then, the next day, we trek to Ghorepani(1860m). Ghorepani is another fantastic village in the Annapurna region, rewarding stunning view of Annapurna Massif, Tukuche Peak, Dhampus, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Barash Sikhar and Mt. Macchapucchre(Fishtail)
The fourth day of this trek is more special as we reach Poonhill, another stunning viewpoint to savour the beauty of the mountain. We wake up early and will hike to Poonhill to catch the breathtaking morning golden sunrise above Annapurna massifs. We will indulge in the never-ending beauty of 32 ranges of Mountains from Poonhill, including Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri. After this wholesome experience here in Poonhill, we trek to Tadapani, 2630m, for an overnight stay.
Upon spending a night at Tadapani, we commence to trek to reach Chhomrong(2165m). We take a trail passing through Ghandruk village, another beautiful town in the Annapurna region of Nepal. From Ghandruk, we descend to the Komrong river and continue to hike to Chhomrong for an overnight stay.
The following day, we leave Chhomrong after breakfast to reach Himalaya(2,890m). We continue the path following the Chhomrong river passing through beautiful villages and then ascending to Modi River until we finally reach the Himalayas for an Overnight stay.
Then, on the seventh day of the trek, we leave the Himalayas to reach the significant highlight of this trek: Annapurna Base Camp. Annapurna Base Camp rewards stunning glacier views, Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8,097m), Gangapurna, Khangsar Kang, Annapurna III, and Macchapucchre. We savour the beauty being served to us and stay overnight in Annapurna Base Camp itself.
Then on the next day of this trek, we reroute the trekking trail out of Modo River valley to reach another village known as Bamboo and to Jhinu Danda(1,780m) from Bamboo. Jhinu Danda is another excellent site for enjoying a natural hot spring where you can relax, rest, and heal your tired muscles.
If every aspect of this trek goes fine, we leave Jhinu Danda following Modi Khola to reach Ghandruk Phedi @ 1150m. Then from Ghandruk Phedi/Siwai, we drive to Pokhara via Nayapul. This day marks the last day of the tour. We stay at a nice star-category hotel here in Pokhara. Then, we fly or drive back to Kathmandu the following day.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek is not a particularly hard trek but still rewards you with this worldview of never-ending beauty in the Annapurna region of Nepal.
As your plane approaches Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will see the world’s highest mountains from your plane seat. After you land and complete immigration formalities, we will receive you at the airport and drop you at pre-booked hotels. As you come out of the airport, it is natural to feel cultural shock, but no worries, as we are here to assist and guide you throughout your trek journey—overnight in a hotel in Kathmandu.
After early morning breakfast at the hotel in Kathmandu, we take a tourist bus to Pokhara, a 6-7 Hours drive with all excellent accompaniment of Trishuli and Marshyangdi rivers, green rocky mountains, and other small springs.
Pokhara is scenic, happening, and is a gateway to Annapurna Base Camp and has amazing lakes like Phewa and Begnas. All impressive mountains like Annapurna(8091m), Macchapucchre(6993m), Dhaulagiri(8169m), Manaslu(8156m), and Lamjung Himal(6983m) lie above Pokhara.
Pokhara is simply a paradise for tourists with all modern logistics to satisfy you even more. Luxury and comfort are what Pokhara serves right, with other amenities as well.
Upon having a healthy breakfast in Pokhara, we drive shortly through alluring landscapes and reach Tikhedhunga. The road to Tikhedhunga is good, and gentle, and passes you through Nayapul and Birethanti. You can see terrace farming and its beauty driving along Bhurungdi Khola.
As we leave Birethanti, the road is not blacktopped, so it is the offroad drive to Tikhedhunga. We commence our hike for the day from Tikhedhunga. We start hiking, passing through Sudame and Hile villages, and reach Ulleri after 03 hours of walking. Ulleri is at 2073m above sea level.
This day is all enthralling as the trail slowly ascends. We satisfy our senses from the trekking trail with all stunning views of Mt. Annapurna, Macchapucchre, and Hiunchuli snowy peaks. We will be waking to pass through the rhododendron forest, with encounters with animals, rivers, and natural refreshing springs. The trail takes us to Ghorepani, another unique village lying on the ridgeline.
Ghorepani serves magnificent and wholesome views of mountains like Dhaulagiri I, II, III, IV, V. Tukuche, Dhampus, Nilgiri, Annapurna South, Barah Sikhar, Macchapucchre( which is also known as Fishtail) We stay overnight here in Ghorepani in local lodge.
Anyone who loves sunrise will be happier as you savour all the amazing sunrise views over snowy mountains. We start our day with a hike to Poon hill to indulge in a sunrise view of the Himalayas. From Poon Hill, we can see and savour breathtaking sunrise over 32 Annapurna ranges highlighting mountains like Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Macchapucchre. Poonhill is well known for photography, so get ready with a lens partner to capture the stunning beauty of the Annapurna mountains.
After spending some time here in Poonhill, we will descend to our lodge, take our breakfast, and start trekking to Tadapani(2630m). To reach Tadapani, we will pass through Deurali (2960m) and Bandthanti.
We will wake up early at Tadapani, have breakfast, and continue our journey to Chhomrong(2165m). In the beginning, we trek, passing through the fantastic village of Ghandruk and then descending to the Komrong river before reaching Chhomrong village. Furthermore, you will see all the stunning views of Annapurna South and Fishtail from the trekking trail.
Chhomrong villages are in the lap of serene Annapurna Massif and are a well-known spot for an overnight stay for those ascending to Annapurna Base Camp.
Trek today is longer in comparison to other days. We will follow the trekking trail descending to Chhomrong Khola(river) from Chhomrong village. We will hike through steep stones, and after some hiking, the course goes up, passing through Bamboo, oak, and a forest of rhododendron. As we trek along the route, the alluring view of Macchapucchre, Annapurna, accompanies you. The trail passes through Sinuwa village and then descends to Bamboo Lodge settlement. Then again ascends to Himalaya (2890m) and finally reach the place where we stay overnight.
Day eight is the primary day of this trek. We start trekking from the Himalayas, following a route passing a narrow gorge along the Modi Khola Glacier Valley. We give more forests, a large overhanging known as Hiku Cave, lodge of Deurali until making it to the entry of Annapurna Sanctuary, ultimately taking us to Annapurna Base Camp.
On this beautiful day, we hike close to the Annapurna glaciers. We will be exploring Macchapucchre Base Camp and experiencing the stunning panoramic view of encircling mountains. We continue northwest to reach Annapurna Base Camp from Macchapucchre Base Camp.
Annapurna Base Camp is all beautiful. You can see and experience 360° views of mountains like Hiunchuli, Annapurna South to Annapurna I (8097m) and Khangsar Kang, Gangapurnam Annapurna III, and Macchapucchre.
We will reach Annapurna Base on this particular day, where huge mountains surround us. Different mountains like Annapurna Massif(Annapurna I-IV), Dhaulagiri, Macchapucchre, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho Lake, Pisang Peak, and Paungda Danda, and other peaks ranging from 6000 to 800m are all beautiful and satisfying from Annapurna Base Camp. The day is fulfilling and exotic as Annapurna Base Camp is where we stay overnight in a local lodge.
We leave Annapurna Base Camp; on the other hand, we will collect memories and experiences while descending. We trek back out of Annapurna Conservation Area and out of Modi River Valley. Finally, we will stop at Bamboo (2350m) for an Overnight stay.
As this journey to Annapurna Base Camp ends, we again trek from Bamboo to reach Jhinu Danda. We descend to reach Kimrong Khola and ascend again, trailing through a forest of rhododendron, oak, and Bamboo to go to Jhinu Danda.
Jhinu Danda is an excellent destination for thousands of visitors yearly as the place is affluent on its own. Equally, the refreshing natural hot spring is soothing as it heals tired muscles. You enjoy amazing views of lush vegetation and rhododendron forest as you relax your muscles.
Day eleven marks the final day of this trek. Upon leaving Jhinu Danda, we follow dusty road trekking along the right of Modi Khola. Trekking memories remain fresh on your mind as you come to the most relaxing walk of this entire trip. We reach Siwai/Ghandruk Phedi after trekking for 03 hours. Finally, we will say goodbye to those fantastic trails and drive you through the tremendous countryside to Pokhara. Overnight in star category hotel.
We leave Pokhara early in the morning to take the bus to Kathmandu. You can either fly back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. The drive is 200km, following the Marsyangdi River and the Trishuli River. The scenic drive renders some fantastic views of natural serenity and terrace farmland. Hence, our trip concludes as we make memories to cherish for lifelong. Finally, there is a promise to keep that we shall meet again.
